New kitchen ... and one question

In these 3 months we had lived on two suitcases in 5 different places- old house in New Jersey, my husband's friend's in NJ, my mom's in Hongkong, a temporary apartment in L'Example, Barcelona city, and this one in Sarria also Barcelona city; I'm given a chance to experienced a few different kitchen stoves and ovens. The gas range by far is the one I can truely "click", especially its oven, never forget that golden brown crust on my pizza without using baking stone. Now trying on this electric oven ...*sigh* Time to get a stone, maybe. This electric cooking range comes with a flat top stove, which is really terrific though when comes to cleaning, just a couple of wiping action, things done! No more sore fingers!

This permanent apartment has quite bit of space (about 140 sq m) considering in a city. The first time we looked at this flat, we found there're many switches for bell, puzzled! Later were told that they were for people buzzing their maid ...oh come on! 140 sq m isn't that huge! Anyway, back to my kitchen, which isn't new; most of the appliances are kind of beat-up. But I feel that this cooking range still functions very well so have no intention to replace it. The only concern is this button (photo follows), the markings of the (oven's) heating locations - upper, or lower, or both, or fan, etc - are all gone, any of you guys have the same model... mine is Teka - turbo mx -me? Any of your advice will save my trip to stores looking it up :) :)
These days we have been eating out quite a lot, I don't make any special or elaborated dishes... yet :) Very soon, I believe, everything should be back to normal, both my cooking and blogging.

Hi and welcome back! Anticipatory *drools* on this side of the pond. :D

No idea about the mystery markings. :( But the new kitchen looks funky (mod fun) and too fun!

It's so good to hear from Gattina. We lived in a really old apartment years ago, and all of the labels were worn off the stove knobs, so Jeff painted them back on for me. :) It's worth a try.

Asha my buddy, you're right, it can be tough, for me the most part is to force out (LOL) and display my positive attitude to my husband while he rambling.

Lydia, me too, always thinking of you guys! Good to be back :)

Blue Zebra, BIG thanks! This kitchen is very practical and really big enough for a small family like mine... yet still lacking one point to get the full score... mystery markings :P

Susan, I just don't know why every time we moved (searching for rental house/flat), we always landed on old ones... the new or newly renovated ones surely very reliable and comfortable, but me, I'm attraced to this old charm and smell (LOL)... Jeff did an excellent job, I will tell my husband as well :)

What a beautiful time of year to settle into Barcelona - my favorite city! Makes me farsick just thinking about it!
Sounds like you've had an exciting summer. No help on the stove knobs...other than I've had similar (blank) ones...

I'm glad to see you settling in. You will have some stories to tell!
That kitchen looks like it can turn out a real meal. Me thinks the mystery marks are from 'little bakers'.

Any chance that the oven company has a web site you could google and find old models? hec maybe just pretend it's a computer and push the button and see what comes on/happens?
So good to see you back!

I would hit the internet- if you have a company and model chances are you can find the information (I do this all the time when I have lost instructions!) Congratulations on the new digs and I look forward to seeing more posts as you get settled in.

Dearest Gattina, is it a pleasure to see you online again. You are truly missed. I'd do as Deborah suggested, checking online. You can also check out the sites of Blogger in Spain and some of them may have similar stoves and be able to help you.

I wish I could help you with the knobby controls--but I've never used an oven like that. The kitchen looks very stylish. Does it know how many wonderful things will be created there? Looking forward to seeing your creations again. We've all missed you!
