MEME - 5 things you don't know about me

Here's another meme, thanks Pooja! 5 things you don't know about me, mm, how to start? I'm 5'3", wear contact lens, short hair... huh, a personal classified ad?! Just let me stick with food-related then :D
  1. I worked for my mom since 6 year-old, throughout my elementary school years. My mom sold food, and I cleaned dishes.
  2. I can't do math, a subject that I forever failed at school. But now, when I look at recipe, I can convert xxx g of flour to yyy cups in my head, I'm truly amazed!
  3. Usually we may think Chinese cook rice and use soy sauce/ginger/oyster sauce/sesame oil on regular basic. But not me, I even don't have a rice cooker.
  4. The most sophisticated gadget in my kitchen is *drum rolls* ... a cheap hand-held mixer which doesn't give me a choice of different whisks. Even my electric coffee machine I just let it unpack and stay in the basement, I use a stove-top pot instead. There's no particular reason why I live in such a minimum (comparatively), I just don't like packing and unpack things (we move fairy frequently), and I really don't need that many... psst... except handbags...
  5. My body can't manage well in digesting two different food groups at the same time. If I eat fish and pork in one meal, I'll have stomach upset. My meal mostly is pasta or rice, poured some sauce all over, the sauce can be flavored with meat, but I don't eat it.

Ahh--so you learned very early about food, at your mom's side. I admire how you make so many wonderful things without aid of machines. My mom was like that too. (And I too love handbags!)

Gattina,

You actually make me think that I could make these!!! You have such a way of demystifying things. And of course your photos are beautiful!

Gattina, How fun to learn more about you...An asian classmate of mine packed her rice cooker and brought it to Rome with us! It is amazing you don't use one.
